Family Giving
Did you know Valor depends on the generosity of our families? There is a gap of over $2,000 per student per year between what Valor receives in public funding and what it costs to provide tuition-free classical education. Please consider how you can participate in bridging this gap. For more information, contact Dr. Lindsay Clavere or visit our Donate page.
From the Headmaster
Headmaster Discher
Dear Families,
It is with great joy that I undertake the privilege of being founding headmaster of Valor’s campus in northwest San Antonio. As such, I welcome all of you who will be joining the adventure in developing a classical school that will help young people to mature into the well-educated, flourishing, responsible human beings they were meant to become. I know of no greater joy than to watch children thrive in a safe and joyful environment that is characterized by respect and deep engagement, and I, therefore, look forward to working alongside you to make Valor’s San Antonio campus a place of singular quality in its school culture. We have before us a worthy enterprise and an exciting opportunity!
My goal is to mature our school into a school of national standing. Toward that end I promise to work tirelessly to seek out and develop teachers who instantiate for our students the moral and intellectual virtues, those excellences we hope to see in our children as they grow into wise and virtuous adults, spouses, parents, and citizens.
We will offer a curriculum and develop programs that provide students with opportunities to stretch their moral, intellectual, and athletic imaginations and capabilities. Upon graduating, they will have read, memorized, and recited some of the finest poetry ever penned; they will have participated in the performance of timeless musical and drama productions; they will have encountered some of the finest literature and philosophy ever produced; they will have had opportunities to compete and display grace and elegance, win or lose, on the playing field; and they will have forged friendships that will endure for a lifetime.
As Valor gets underway in northwest San Antonio, please consider various opportunities you will have to get involved and contribute to our school and the experience of our children. We welcome your assistance in making this school a special place, a place characterized by kindness and excellence of human achievement. Together we will offer our children a learning environment where Truth, Goodness, and Beauty are encountered firsthand on a daily basis.
Ever deeper, ever higher!
