Our Roots Are in South Austin

Valor South Austin’s new permanent home is quickly becoming a reality. The 25 acre wooded site located at 11720 South Mopac Expressway features majestic Heritage Oaks throughout the property. Students will gather in one of the 63 rooms featuring natural light to engage in Socratic discussions, explore the fine arts, and wonder in innovative science experiments. They will run and climb in our large playground, and students will eat lunch together in our beautiful courtyard. They will perform as actors and musicians in our black box theater. They will soar through competitive battles on our courts, fields, and trails as athletes. They will delve deeply into great works of literature, exploring humanity and the importance of friendship. Ultimately, our graduates will not only be prepared for college and careers, but they will also be equipped to pursue a life with purpose.

Heritage Today

In August 2023, our team began approaching individual Valor South Austin families during the Quiet Phase of our capital campaign seeking lead gifts. These 40 faithful families answered that call and raised $610,000 that guided us into our Public Phase of the campaign in early February. Their incredible example set the stage for other generous families in the community to contribute to the Putting Down Roots capital campaign. As of March 27, 2024, ten percent of our families have contributed to the campaign, and we have raised over $700,000 towards our goal of $3,000,000. We estimate that the total cost of the project will be just over $47 million. Our goal is to raise $3 million from the Valor South Austin community by September 2024 through our Putting Down Roots capital campaign, with pledges to be paid over three years.

Putting Down Roots Capital Campaign

The school’s annual operating budget will cover the remaining cost of the project financed through a bond issuance. Valor is consistently recognized among charter schools for financial stewardship, receiving the highest grades for fiscal responsibility. The cost of our new campus has been well planned for and will not change our dedication to a balanced financial plan.   

We need all Valor South Austin families to contribute generously to our $3 million capital campaign. Each gift matters and is genuinely appreciated.
