On this evening, we will spend time together as fellow VNA parents and guardians, enjoy a catered dinner, and hear from esteemed speaker Dr. Shannon Valenzuela of the University of Dallas on the topic of "Narnia and the Education of the Soul."

Shannon Valenzuela, Ph.D., is currently an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Humanities at the University of Dallas. She received her B.A. in English and Classics from the University of Dallas, and her Ph.D. in medieval literature from the University of Notre Dame. In her long teaching career at both the K-12 and collegiate levels, she has taught subjects across the curriculum, from advanced mathematics to theology, natural science to literature. She has developed several courses for the University of Dallas on teaching literature, and she has a particular interest in the connection between story and the cultivation of the moral imagination. In addition to her work as an educator, she is an award-winning screenwriter and a novelist, and she is the writer, director, producer, and host of the limited television series The Quest, produced by the University of Dallas and distributed by EWTN.

Dress code is business casual. This is an adults-only event. Should you feel so inclined, you are welcome to bring your own "adult beverage."
