The Classic Learning Test (CLT) exists to reconnect knowledge and virtue by providing meaningful assessments and connections to seekers of truth, goodness, and beauty. Accepted at hundreds of colleges across the US, the CLT is an alternative to the SAT® and ACT® for 11th and 12th graders.

8th Grade Field Trip
The A full human life requires us to invest in all avenues of the human experience. Music is a beautiful expression of the auditory nature of humanity. We desire at times to partake in having our students sing and perform musical numbers. At other times we desire to place our students in a position to receive this gift of music. We are fortunate to have this opportunity through a performance in February.

Inclement Weather MAKE-UP Day - Normal Schedule
Monday, February 17th was originally scheduled as a student/staff/faculty holiday. However, due to the inclement weather on Tuesday, January 21, we will have classes on a normal schedule on Monday, February 17th to make up for that missed day of classes.

High School Winter Swing Formal

National Latin Exam

Class Pictures & School Picture Re-Take Day
EK Simmons Photography will return to take class pictures for the yearbook as well as re-takes of individual photos. This includes photos of students who were absent for Fall picture day, students who would like a different picture taken, and new students who were not enrolled in October. Grove City College Campus Visit
Grove City College will visit the VNA campus on Thursday, Feb. 27. High School students are encouraged to attend. See below for more details.

About: Grove City is located in Pennsylvania and is known for its classical Christian curriculum. They have a strong Engineering program and a popular Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. They are also strong in humanities. Tuition at Grove City College stands at about half of the national average for private institutions of their caliber. If you are considering Hillsdale as a college option, you should definitely check out Grove City.

Parents' Dinner & Social
We are delighted to announce our Spring Parents Dinner and Social which will take place on March 28 at 6:30 PM at Brushy Creek Community Center. Our speaker will be Dr. Anna B. Moreland, who will be presenting The Young Adult Playbook, a practical guide for young people to encounter and pursue their true desires.
The purpose of the Parent Dinner and Social is twofold:
To provide you with an opportunity to socialize with other Valor North Austin parents over dinner and drinks (BYOB).
To listen to and learn from a dynamic speaker on topics related to parenting and education more broadly.

Spinal Screenings
Valor North Austin has scheduled spinal screenings for January 27-28, 2025. Boys in Grade 8 will be screened as well as Girls in Grades 5 and 7. State law requires that schools screen students for abnormal spinal curvature in accordance with the following schedule.
During their time at Valor:
Girls will be screened two times: In Grade 5 and Grade 7
Boys will be screened one time: In Grade 8
This screening is not a medical exam. Your child still needs to see a doctor for annual, well-child checkups. If you do not wish to have your child screened for any reason, please email Nurse Laws at nurse.northaustin@valoreducation.org.

2nd Grade Field Trip
The 2nd graders will be attending The Nutcracker at the Long Center for Performing Arts on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Students will eat an early lunch at 10:30 then will be picked up from Valor at 11:00am. The buses will pick up students from the Long Center at 1:00pm and students will be back at Valor around 1:30pm. Upon return to campus, students will enjoy a "post-ballet reception" at school including tea and pastries.
Winter Concert

The 4th graders will be visiting Inner Space Cavern on Friday, December 6, 2024. Students will be picked up from Valor at 9:00am. Students will have lunch at Inner Space Cavern so disposable lunches should be packed. The buses will pick up students from Inner Space at 1:00pm and students will be back at Valor by 1:30pm.
