8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
This evening, we will celebrate our eighth-grade students’ graduation from middle school to upper school. More details will be sent to guardians of 8th-grade students.
Graduation
VNA’s first graduating class will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31st. More details coming soon.
10th Grade Field Trip
During this outing, tenth grade students will practice plein air painting.
DETAILS
Field Trip on Friday, November 8th.
Students will need to pack a snack, fully disposable lunch, and bring a full water bottle.
Necessary art supplies and materials will be provided by Valor.
This trip will not be in need of parent chaperones.
8th Grade Retreat
The 8th grade retreat is an opportunity for students to engage in reflection and conversation on the meaning of authentic friendship. In addition to the examination of texts rooted in the classical tradition, students will engage in games, reflection time, and group discussions. The goal of the retreat is for scholars to better integrate the meaning of true friendship into their individual and communal lives.

Upper School Dances
Our vision for dances at Valor is unique. Students learn specific dance styles, and it is a community event where they dance with many people, not just one date. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to go in groups rather than seeing this as an event for which they should find a date.

7th Grade Curricular Celebration
The 7th-grade class will have a themed celebration based on books they have read this year. More information will be provided to families of students in the 7th grade.

Upper School Parents Night
We are pleased to invite guardians of Upper School students (grades 6-12) to experience a day in the life of a Valor scholar by attending Parents Night!
At this event, intended exclusively for parents and guardians (no students, please), you will have the opportunity to be taught by your child's instructors. Through learning just a bit of what your children participate in daily, we hope that you will also more deeply understand and value Valor's unique culture.

MAP Testing Window
A web based exam given to students using Chromebooks in grades 3 through 8. These tests aim to measure student growth in tested subjects as they progress through the year. These tests will not taken for a grade in your child's classes, and there is no preparation needed in advance.
Freshmen Wilderness Expedition
The 9th grade class (2024-25 school year) will embark on their Wilderness Expedition August 25-30, 2024. More info has been shared about the trip with parents of freshmen.

Junior Drama Performances
We’re excited to announce that our 11th Grade Drama students will perform in an end-of-year showcase! Over the course of our year, they have increased their skills in basic acting, analysis of scenes, and how to perform difficult yet famous Shakespeare plays such as A Midsummer Night's Dream (a few scenes of which will be performed).
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Our program will run for about two hours with a special announcement about our drama plans for next year.
Enjoy scenes from Cyrano de Bergerac and The Shoemakers Holiday and original pantomimes, monologues, and performance improvisation.
The students have been diligently working to memorize their scenes and monologues of various genres which they have selected to share with you. Please plan to join us!
